It’s a very ambitious step forward for him, but it definitely pays off, as this episode is by far his strongest effort yet, and is already one of Season 5’s best. ![]() Larson episodes, along with a grand scale commonly found in Meghan McCarthy two-parters, which makes it all the more remarkable that the script was actually written by Scott Sonneborn. The story is brimming with the weird and wonderful sense of imagination often associated with M.A. With its power growing stronger with every new pony’s dream it attacks, it’s up to Luna to enter their dreams and catch the Tantabus before it spreads itself too far.Īlthough she made substantial appearances for the CMC dream trilogy, this episode marks the first time since Season 2 that Luna has had the main role, and what an incredible return it is for her. After receiving a letter from Twilight regarding the matter (yes, Twilight is writing letters to the princesses again!), Luna informs them that the Tantabus had escaped from her own nightmare, and since the Mane 6 appeared in it (sporting their ridiculous Rainbow Power look once again), it is now able to invade and move itself around any and all their dreams as well. LOTS of spoilers present (believe me, we’re gonna need them for this one!) as we review Season 5 Episode 13 – “Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?”Īt a specially arranged session for all their pets, including Tank, now back from hibernation (yay!), the Mane 6 tell each other that they all had nightmares the night before, all featuring a dark and mysterious creature known as the Tantabus. Well, we’re now at the halfway point of Season 5, with just this one more episode to go before My Little Pony goes on a mid-season hiatus.
